Gavin’s ‘da-da’, my husband!

This photo is a digital Quick Page that I did for Grant’s Father’s Day card. Basically, I added the photo and the text, everything else was designed by one of the CT members for JessicaSprague.com. Credits below. Anyway, while we generally don’t “celebrate” a lot of these Hallmark-y holidays, I do want to pay tribute to my husband, Gavin’s da-da, because I don’t do it enough! I may be a little partial, but Grant is pretty much the best dad ever. From the day Gavin was born (or even from the day we found out we were pregnant), Grant has been a part of everything. He plays a very active role in raising our son (not that we’ve had a son too terribly long, but still!). He changed diapers from the beginning; he stayed up with him when he wouldn’t sleep a couple of the nights the first week we were home from the hospital. He looks for fun things for them to do (again, only 10 months old…but Grant gets creative). I come into the room from doing something and Gavin’s giggling like crazy because Grant is attacking him, or making funny faces, or doing something as simple as shaking a cup with ice in it. He knows how to make the boy smile! A few weeks ago, I hear commotion while I’m in another room, and it turns out they’re having a “pillow fight.” Gavin was laughing so hard!! Who has pillow fights with 9 month-olds! He loves taking Gavin on wagon rides and this week we bought a bike seat and tried it out. Again, success! I love that they get to spend so much time together and create such a strong Father-Son bond. It’s beautiful to see. I always knew Grant would be a good father, I just didn’t know what it would really feel like to see him in action. Amazing…really can’t put it into words! So, Grant, thanks for being you. Thanks for being an absolutely wonderful Father. Gavin and I are richly blessed, and I thank God for you! Love you :) .
